ISTA – International Safe Transit Association:

The International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) is a global alliance of shippers, carriers, suppliers, testing laboratories, and educational and research institutions focused on the specific concerns of transport packaging. ISTA creates and publishes laboratory preshipment testing procedures.

ISTA 1 Series: Non-Simulation Integrity Performance Tests:

  • 1A – Packaged-products 150 lbs (68 kg) or less
  • 1B – Packaged-products over 150 lbs (68 kg)
  • 1C – Extended testing for individual packaged-products weighing 150 lbs (68 kg) or less
  • 1D – Extended testing for individual packaged-products over 150 lbs (68 kg)
  • 1E – Unitized loads
  • 1G – Packaged-products 150 lbs (68 kg) or less
  • 1H – Packaged-products over 150 lbs (68 kg)
